Sam did his first gig at 19 in a pub in Bath, being called onto stage minutes after suffering profound heartbreak (Arsenal lost 3-1 to Man City). Despite this, he persevered through his set while barely crying at all - an early sign that Sam can still excel under the very harshest conditions.

Sam was first attracted to stand-up through the traditional avenues of British sketch comedy, the works of Douglas Adams, and a desperate yearning to seek validation presumably stemming from some under-analysed childhood trauma.

As well as performing stand-up, Sam writes for stage, and is part of a sketch troupe with two fellow comedians.
