Adam Hopkins

London-based comic as seen on Comedy Central and at Top Secret, Angel, Backyard, Glee, etc.

A London-based stand-up and writer from Leeds, Adam Hopkins has performed at clubs all over the UK including Top Secret, Hot Water, Backyard, Angel, Banana Cabaret, Frog and Bucket, Glee, The Gaffe, and Up the Creek. He started doing comedy while living in Shanghai, China, and has headlined all across Asia in cities like Beijing, Tokyo, Taipei, Bangkok, Hong Kong and even Wuhan. While in China, he opened for several big-name touring comics such as Kyle Kinane (Netflix), Mike Vecchione (Tonight Show), Dean Edwards (SNL), Kate Willett (Netflix), and Dave Merheje (Netflix). He opened for Kinane again last year for four nights in London as part of Kinane's UK tour. He has also headlined shows across Europe in cities such as Bucharest, Barcelona, Paris, and Brussels and last year became (possibly) the first British comic to perform in Guatemala. He was selected for Circuit Breakers at the 2023 Leicester Comedy Festival, won Reading New Comedian of the Year at the 2023 Reading Indie Comedy Festival, was a finalist in the 2022 UK Chinese Comedy Competition (performing in Mandarin) was nominated for the 2021 BBC New Comedy Award, came third in the 2019 Bangkok International Comedy Competition, and was a finalist at the 2018 China International Comedy Festival. He has also written for shows on BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC Radio Scotland such as Newsjack, DMs Are Open, and Breaking the News.
